29.10.XLIV news

Welcome to a new update, few things to get to so here we go. First, all orders have been processed so everyone who had ordered and not received theirs should be expecting them. Thank you all again for your patience! While all of that was going on, I have been working on new projects as well. The first of these is the next mask, which is going to be incredibly limited and may be ebay only. I have yet to decide and don't want to divulge too much more right now, but more soon enough,

Next, is the first release that I will be putting out in collaboration with my other half. We are doing a series of home furnishings, beginning with sculpted mirrors. The inagural piece will be an octopus frame, and will be unleashed soon. I am in the finalizing of the prototype at the moment. Expect more mirrors and tables, lamps, etc. in the future. I had hoped to have a new Left Hand Path piece in time for Halloween, but it isn't going to happen. I'm shooting for Winter Solstice though.

New paintings are also in the works as well, I just completed a few reworks of older paintings using things I am doing now and one or two new ones. Those should be in the gallery soon. I've also begun a series of portraits based on horror icons who happen to be favorites of mine, the first I am working on currently is HP Lovecraft.

I've been putting together ideas with a good friend of mine for some film projects. I am currently storyboarding two of these and will be self publishing them in book format, with mor epossibly following soon. And last, I ahve finally caved in and set up an account over a Deviant Art, chek it out Here.

It has been quite the chaotic last couple of months, but I can safely say that akuma has been relocated from Baltimore, Md back to Charlotte, NC. The last 8 years in Charm City have been good to me, but since my lady Melony and I are getting hitched my moving back home was required. This unfortunately set off a chain of events that have now forced me into a massvie game of catch up, so mask orders are behind. I'm almost caught up, so please be patient for a bit longer your order is on the way. Feel free to email me if you have not heard from me already.

My impending marriage also brings the news that akuma is now a two person operation. Melony has officially joined the ranks and we will be moving projects forward as a team. Our first collaborative efforts will be surfacing soon. Lastly, new works will be posted to the site in the coming weeks, once I have gotten the backed up orders out so stay tuned for that as well. More as it rolls in.

Technically on April 11th, but the newest piece in the Lords of The Left Hand Path series is now on sale. It is a neoprene replica of Anton LaVey's horned devil cowl made (in)famous during the early days of the Church of Satan. Head on over to the mask shop and pick one up now!

Next week marks the return of Radio Free Satan from it's vacation hiatus and as such new episodes of both Velvet Darkness and Clint Mephisto's Shit Kickin' Road Show begin Monday, so be sure to check them out.

And finally, new paintings are being worked on currently and should be appearing in the galleries soon. Some other projects will be materializing as well, but details on those soon. That's it for now. end of line

First up, episode 18 of "Clint Mephisto's Shit Kickin' Road Show" and 177 "Velvet Darkness" beginning airing tomorrow on Radio Free Satan. Be sure and check them out! Next up, the next piece in the Lords of The Left Hand Path series is slated for release on April 11. It will coincide with Anton LaVey's birthday and will be a neoprene replica of the infamous devil horned cowl worn in many photos from the CoS' early days. More info on that as times draws near.

There will also be a few new paintings surfacing in the next week or so as well. New pieces in both the "Guardian Angel" and "Might is Right" series. The upcoming Guardian Angel will also be the blueprint for a large scale sculpture in the future as well. That's it for now.

A few things to throw out today so here we go. First up due to some issues beyond my control, the new radio program has undergone a slight alteration. I've had to change the dj name from Buck Satan as it is apparently copyrighted. Go figure. But, not to be stopped the character/dj name has been changed and will be now known as "Clint Mephisto". So beginning tomorrow, you can hear "Clint Mephisto's Shit Kickin Road Show" on Radio Free Satan. As mentioned before, I will continue to run the goth/industrial "Velvet Darkness" on the same station. Now you get two of me for the price of one!

Some promo shots were done over the weekend using the prosthetic makeup for Clint, although they were not the ones I had hoped to start with. The planets have yet to align on that series but they will soon. Expect the existing shots to turn up in the gallery soon though. Up next, the Devils Rain helmets are beginning to move, so if you want one of the 13 silver editions act quick! The Baphomet mask numbers are now in the mid 30's, thanks to all who have bought one. A new mask sculpture is nearly complete as well and should be offered for sale within the next couple of weeks. And last, some commissioned works are upcoming as well as a new painting or two. Series II in the Lords of The Left Hand Path is about a week or so away from release. As mentioned before the new piece is a replica of the ritual helmet worn by Anton LaVey in the film The Devil's Rain and is called 'The High Priest'. It will be limited to 66 pieces and available in a brass finish. I'm toying with the idea of splitting the run between the film accurate brass finish and a pewter or silver finish but haven't decided just yet. Final details are being worked out now and will be posted soon.

Also of note, I will be producing a second radio show on Radio Free Satan in the near future. It is called Buck Satan's Shit Kickin Road Show, and will feature vintage country music, rockabilly and psychobilly bands as well as related genres. I will continue to produce the goth/industrial show Velvet Darkness simultaneously. Like Velvet D, I will be hosting this show as a character. Buck Satan will be pretty much the antithesis of dj dracul, obnoxious and foul mouthed whereas dracul is monotone and has a couldn't be buggered attitude. I am in the process of fabricating a prosthetic makeup for Buck that will be used in promotional photos for the station and pushing the show. An early test episode has been previewed and received favorable response. The projected on air premiere is sometime in September.

It's been awhile since the last update, so here we go. First, episode 148 of Velvet Darkness begins airing tomorrow on Radio Free Satan, so check it out. Next up the next piece in the Lords of The Left Hand Path series will be available soon. I've decided to switch gears a bit, and not release an occult deity mask this time around. The next release will be a replica of the ritual headpiece worn by Anton LaVey in the film The Devil's Rain. The full size wearable helmet will be cast in fibreglass, and limited as per usual. Edition size and price are still up in the air, but like the first in the series, there will be a CoS member discount (a scan of your card will be required).

Next a new sculpture is also in the works, and might be the first I've done that is offered for sale. Details are sketchy right now, but it will be produced as cold cast bronze, and if offered for sale may be available in two other finishes as well. Up next, the Celebrated Summer collaboration will be *finally* released this year. We were having some problems waiting on others to handle their end, but now I've officially taken the reigns on all aspects of this piece and will ensure that it hits soon. Last, new photos will be up soon of recent works soon also. I am reworking the galleries and wanted to wait until it's done but they are coming. End of line.

The demon lord series masks are now officially sold out. Thanks to all who bought one! The Lords of The Left Hand Path series I masks are selling well, and series II is currently in the sculpting process. Sadly it will not be ready for Walpurgisnacht release on April 30. Commissioned works have been flowing in as well, and new works will be posted soon to the site. Lastly, episode 140 of Velvet Darkness begins airing on Radio Free Satan tomorrow.

The Demon Lord Crystar Skull is almost sold out. One piece in the run is left, so if you still haven't gotten one head on over and pick it up. Once it's gone, that's it forever.

The Left Hand Path Baphomet mask #'s are now entering the 20s. Thanks to all who have purchased one so far! Principal design on the second series is nearing completion and sculpting should begin this week.

Lastly, episode 136 of Velvet Darkness begins running tomorrow on Radio Free Satan. It is a special 'Deathrock' episode and consists entirely of old school bands of the genre as well as newer acts.

This week's episode of Velvet Darkness, #135 will begin running tomorrow on Radio Free Satan. The Lords of The Left Hand Path series 1 masks are now moving into the double digit #'s and the second series is currently in the pre planning stages with a targeted release of Walpurgis. The Danzig Crystar skull is two pieces away from retirement as well. Commissioned works are flowing pretty smoothly as well, with new images posted here in the near future. End of line.
